Gee, I’m old enough to have seen some of the Howdy Doody shows live(born in the summer of 1953). To me it looked like a box that powdered detergent came in. Some shampoos today do come in a plastic or glass bottle encased in a box .
When I was very little, we lived in a 5th floor walkup apartment. My mother would take me to the grocery store/deli on the first floor to get what she needed. She once told me many years later that the deli man would often point to a package or box, and I would sing the commercial for that product.

Very nice picture and sound on this great old Kinescope fifties relic! I remember watching the Howdy Doody show live back in those days, so that likely dates me as ancient. Easy, pleasant, nostalgic, fun viewing. Gee, I wonder if that keen Howdy Doody Mystery Periscope is still available for 25 cents and a Halo Shampoo boxtop?
